PART-TIME KP / KITCHEN ASSISTANT VACANCY

We are looking for a hard-working and dependable Kitchen Porter. The role is 3 days a week (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) from 7.30am to 3.30pm with a paid lunch break and food. Extra shifts are occasionally available.

 

24 hours a week,  £12/hour

Start date:  September 2024

 

The main responsibilities of this role are washing up, clearing tables, cleaning and maintaining the customer space, and support to the FOH and kitchen teams. This is a demanding job and you need to be physically fit.

 

Responsibilities also include some food preparation, but please note there is no cooking or baking involved.

 

Prior experience in a busy kitchen environment is essential. Also required is an ability to work efficiently, follow instructions, and to possess good communication skills for interaction with customers and the rest of the bakery team.

PART-TIME BARISTA / FOH VACANCY

This position has now been filled.

We are looking for a new member for our Front of House team. Exceptional customer service is our priority, therefore experience in a busy café or hospitality environment is essential. We have a big group of lovely regulars as well of plenty of new customers every day, so you need to be welcoming, friendly and able to build rapport quickly. We are a busy bakery, which means we work at a fast pace, so energy and efficiency are a must!

 

2 – 3 shifts per week (16 – 24 hours), starting pay £12.50/hour
Mixture of opening and closing shifts between the hours of 6.30am and 4:00pm, Tuesday to Saturday. We are closed on Sunday and Monday
Start date:  September 2024 

 

Barista experience is essential. Great coffee is a big part of what we offer, with rotating house espressos from Extract coffee roasters and high-end equipment.

 

The role also includes some food preparation, taking orders for hot food, answering calls, taking customer pre-orders and day-to-day upkeep of the café space.

Experienced Baker Required – NOW FILLED

 

THIS POSITION HAS NOW BEEN FILLED

 

Start date: October 2020

30-35 hours a week over 4 days including some Saturdays, earliest start time 4.30am

 

We are looking for an experienced baker to join our small team.  We make a range of sourdough, viennoiserie and cakes.  Using a slow overnight retard for all our bread and pastries we have developed a rhythm that allows for sociable working hours, products fresh from the oven when we open and a connection with customers as they are able to see the whole process.

 

You should have experience in a similar role with a knowledge and passion for baking artisan bread, pastries and cakes.  You will be familiar with mixing, shaping and baking a range of breads and experience with laminated products.  As a team of just 3 full time bakers, roles are shared and rotated meaning plenty of variety and scope to bring new ideas.

 

As part of a small team you will need to be able to work independently, efficiently and share responsibility for the smooth running of the bakery.  Quality is at the heart of what we do – you should have great attention to detail and be always striving to improve products and processes.  There will be ample opportunity for your creative input in developing new products.

 

The bakery is a fun and fast-paced place to work.  You will be joining a friendly team of passionate people, who also inspire and help to create regular events around food, art, community and business.
